Pakistan's nationwide entrance exam for MBBS/BDS admissions, mandatory for all medical colleges. The MDCAT is a paper-based test held in multiple cities simultaneously. It consists of 200 MCQs covering Biology, Chemistry, Physics, English, and Logical Reasoning. Total time allotted is 3.5 hours. There is no negative marking in MDCAT. A minimum qualifying score is set by authorities (e.g., 65% MBBS/55% BDS in 2022, lowered to 33% in 2024).

Entrance test for NUMS-affiliated medical colleges (e.g. Army Medical College). The 2025 NUMS test has two parts: Part-A (150 MCQs in 150 min) covering Biology (~35%), Chemistry (~25%), Physics (~25%), English (~10%); and Part-B (100 MCQs in 30 min) which is a psychological aptitude test (not scored toward merit). No negative marking. Passing criteria are aligned with national standards (55% for MBBS, 45% for BDS). Admissions require a valid MDCAT as well.

It is a paper-based exam comprising 100 MCQs divided into two sections: Science Achievement (biology & chemistry knowledge, 50 questions) and Science & Math Reasoning (analytical problems, 50 questions). Time allowed is 2 hours. There is ¼ negative marking in the Science Achievement section, while no negative marking in the reasoning section. High performance in this test is required to be shortlisted for interviews. AKU also accepts SAT/MCAT scores for eligible applicants in lieu of the AKU test.

No general knowledge section is separately tested. There is no negative marking. Candidates must score at least 60% to qualify for the next stage (group discussion & interview). Combined entry test organized by UET Lahore for admission to undergraduate Engineering/Technology programs across Punjab. ECAT is held multiple times (e.g., First ECAT in March, Second ECAT in June 2025). It comprises 100 MCQs: 30 Mathematics, 30 Physics, 30 Chemistry OR Computer Science, and 10 English. Duration is ~100 minutes. No negative marking. The best score among attempts is considered. ECAT is computer-based, administered at UET-designated test centers. There is no set passing score; candidates must take at least one ECAT to be eligible for engineering admission (final selection is based on a combined merit of 70% F.Sc marks and 30% ECAT score).
